How does your husband know it's not signed by the right person?įrom what I know, when I cleared, only a select few from that duty station could sign off on the DD214's to keep stuff like this from happening. We have one from when he left basic and went into the reserves and we have one that is mostly correct but, according to my husband, is signed by the wrong person and therefore not legal? We can't get a Cert of Eligibility (COE) because we don't have a legit DD214. What we don't have is a way to prove that he deserves the benefit. We've got the credit and income and all that good stuff. My husband and I are trying to use his VA Home Loan benefit to buy our first house.
